The New River Valley Regional Jail encourages inmates to
maintain contact with their friends and family through
regular visits. Video Visitation is the method of
visitation used for all regular visits,
and visits
must be scheduled in advance. Inmates complete a
visitation form and select up to four persons (to include
children) to be authorized to visit them during their scheduled visitation time.
Children under the age of 13 are allowed to visit
weekly, and all children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a
parent and/or legal guardian.
- In order to schedule an inmate visit, an adult on the
inmate's approved list of visitors must contact NRVRJ and
schedule the visit.
- Scheduling requests will be accepted Monday through
Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. or 1:00 -3:30 PM, the week
before the requested visit. The caller must provide the
names of all persons wanting to visit at this time.
- Only one request per week will be considered.
Important: Visitors
must arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visitation
time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to visit. Visitors need to bring a picture ID for visitor identity
verification.
